Terms of Appointment for ACIPS Patrons
1. Title and Role
Appointees shall carry the title of Patron of the Africa Centre for Intangible Phenomena Studies (ACIPS). Patrons are distinguished individuals invited to support and endorse the vision, mission, and objectives of ACIPS through their influence, networks, and professional standing.
2. Purpose of Appointment
- To serve as an honorary ambassador and advocate of ACIPS.
- To provide strategic guidance and public goodwill towards ACIPS initiatives.
- To assist in fundraising, stakeholder engagement, and public outreach.
3. Criteria for Appointment
- Demonstrated commitment to African development, indigenous knowledge systems, metaphysical inquiry, or related fields.
- Recognised leadership and integrity in their professional or community spheres.
- Willingness to lend their name and support to ACIPS programs.
4. Duration of Appointment
The standard term of appointment is 3 years, renewable upon mutual agreement. Patrons may resign at any time by written notice or be relieved of their position by the Board of Trustees if necessary.
5. Expectations
- Attend or provide support for at least one ACIPS event or initiative per year.
- Offer strategic advice or mentorship when consulted.
- Promote the organisation in relevant forums and networks.
- Uphold the values and reputation of ACIPS.
6. Nature of Appointment
This is an honorary, non-remunerated role. Patrons are not involved in daily operations or governance decisions unless otherwise appointed in an advisory capacity.
7. Confidentiality and Conduct
Patrons are expected to maintain the confidentiality of any privileged information and uphold ethical conduct in line with ACIPS's core values.
