Dear Colleagues, Students and People of the Land:

The Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching (CELT) in collaboration with the Afrikan Centre for Intangible Phenomena Studies (ACIPS) invites you to the first workshop in a series titled "Sacred Dialogues: Advancing the Project of Liberating Afrikan Epistemologies." The purpose of the workshop series is to create safe, inclusive, and culturally grounded spaces to explore Afrikan spirituality, knowledge production and traditional healing as vital foundations of identity, wellness, and Indigenous wisdom. This is critical because Afrikan spiritual practices remain marginalised in academic and professional settings. As calls to decolonise knowledge grow, there’s a renewed urgency to center ancestral wisdom, foster healing conversations, and arm Indigenous spiritual experiences in our communities and institutions. This collaboration and dialogue align with DUT’s Philosophy of Education strategies to cultivate decolonial communities and to decolonise, transform and create an innovative curriculum.
